Montreal 1976

We were delighted to host the 50th anniversary lunch for the two medal winning crews from the 1976 Montreal Olympics recently.

The British eight (Leander Club and Thames Tradesmen RC) won the Silver medal, only being overtaken by the East Germans in the last 200 metres. The reunion was completed by the presence of their outstanding coach, Bob Janousek, and his wife, Helena.

Also in attendance were Chris Baillieu and Mike Hart, winners of the Silver medal in the double sculls.
