Leander Club sent two men’s crews to Poplar Regatta and enjoyed a great day of racing against top tier domestic opposition.
The men’s Open 4- of Isaac Dean, Callum Jenkins, Tom Ballinger and Bob Bryden raced well against strong opposition to take the win, handling the tricky conditions with confidence, winning both their heat and the final.
The men’s Open 8+ of Erin Kennedy, Levin Graf, Myles McQuillan, Jono Cameron, Ben Newton, Alex Abuhoff, Ben Brockway, George Reed and James Purves-Lidelle, also performed well, winning their heat to reach the final before having a tough row, finishing third overall in increasingly challenging conditions later in the day.
Overall, it was a positive day of racing for the club against competitive opposition.
