Quintin Head Race Report

Leander’s development squad took three eights to Quintin Head on Saturday 20th January, racing on the Tideway for the first time this year.

More than 270 crews raced from Chiswick Bridge to just past Hammersmith Bridge. Ross Hunter, Chief Coach of Leander women said: “It was great to be back racing again after a few weeks of having to be on the ergos due to the floods and high wind. Thanks to Quintin for running such a well organised event.”

Winners of the Championship Women’s Eight was our crew of Fitzsimons (cox), Topp, Standing, Fennell, Snowden, Perry, Morrice, Kirkpatrick and Emery. Our second crew finished runners up in the same event.

Racing in the Men’s Championship event, our gap year crew finished in 5th place but picked up a time penalty, pushing them down to 11th. Ali Brown, Assistant Mens Coach said: “For these development athletes it is brilliant racing experience, with many of them representing Leander for their first time”.
