Toughest race in the world

Congratulations to the four Leander rowers who were part of the crew that won the GB Men’s eight (M8+) in the ‘toughest race in the world’, the gruelling Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup on the Kiel Canal in Rendsburg, Germany, this month. Miles Beeson, Douwe De Graaf, Peter Lancashire and Dan Graham finished 17.3 seconds ahead of the USA, with Germany third and Austria fourth, after 37m 32.7 s on the 12.7km route of the final part of the competition. The crew was coached by Leander’s Matt Beechey, alongside Peter Shepphard and Oxford Brookes’ Henry Bailhache-Webb.
