Leander’s development squad returned from their annual training camp in Banyoles, Spain, last week and went straight into racing at The Metropolitan Regatta at Dorney Lake.
With tough crosswind conditions, racing was challenging at times but very beneficial for all our crews ahead of the all-important Henley Women’s Regatta and Henley Royal that are fast approaching.
The Women’s Quad of Susie Dear, Rebecca Wilde, Rosa Thompson, and Lina Kuehn raced well to win the 1900m time trial and take the win in the A final in style.
Next up was Stephen Hughes racing the Championship Double Sculls in a composite crew with Josh Mathews from Edinburgh Uni.
They also won their time trial before winning the A final impressively.
Leander’s sculling success continued with Rebecca Wilde taking her second win of the day in a composite Double Scull with Katie Mole of Birmingham Uni.
And finally, Abigail Topp won the Women’s Championship pairs racing with Phoebe Snowden of The University of London.
