World Cup III, Sabaudia, Italy

11 Leander development squad athletes were selected to race at the World Cup 3 in Sabaudia, Italy as part of the Project Paris group. For many of these athletes this was their first senior international selection.

Also in attendance were Ali Brown and Morgan Baynham-Williams whowere selected as part of the coaching team for the event.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for our young up and coming athletes to experience world cup racing for GB and test themselves against some top crews that will be at this summer’s Tokyo Olympics” said Mark Banks Leander Club’s Director of Rowing and Chief Coach.

Leander Club’s athletes impressively all made A finals with 3 crews winning medals:

Lola Anderson W1x : BRONZE

Susie Dear and Sam Redgrave W2- : BRONZE

Victor Kleshnev and Rory Harris M2X : BRONZE

Hope Cessford and Lauren Irwin W4- : FOURTH

Heidi Long and Alice Davies W2- : FOURTH

Ryan Todhunter and James Vogel M2-: SIXTH
