WINGFIELD SCULLS RACING RESULTS

After a long break from racing it was exciting to be attending a race again on Sunday 18th October.

The Wingfield sculls is a small event heaped with tradition where a handful of single scullers take part in racing side by side from Putney to Chiswick. This year with the lack of racing the committee had to close the entries early due to the number of scullers wishing to compete.

It was decided that with 17 men and 9 women entered all scullers would have to complete a time trial where the top 6 will qualify for the final the following week.

Leander had 3 men and 3 women racing and with the closure of Hammersmith bridge the new course was from AKRC to just Beyond ULBC

Angus Groom did well to qualify in 1st place and Victor Kleshnev (u23) took the last qualifying spot in 6th. Charles Wait-Roberts finished 8th.

Hannah Scott (u23) raced well to come 2nd and Georgy Brayshaw 6th to make the final with Jess Leyden coming home in 7th.

We now look forward to next Thursdays final
