The Ted Jackson was officially named during Regatta week this year.
After his demob from National Service in 1958, Ted joined the National Provincial Bank Rowing Club. He later joined Leander Club and has been a loyal member ever since. In recent years, Ted has stayed in one of the Leander Bedrooms during Regatta week and in 2019 when the naming rights for one of the bedrooms was up for renewal, Ted stepped in to cover the cost. Ted has concluded that the 2025 Regatta will be his last, so the Committee decided that his generosity over the years should be recognised by naming a Quad after him.
Ted said: “I have been a member for over 60 years and I am very pleased. I didn’t expect it, but I have really enjoyed today.”
