HRR at Leander Club 2025 was filled with so many memorable moments and remarkable achievements that truly highlight the spirit of Leander:
- On the water, our athletes showed incredible talent and determination, winning three events (the Ladies’ Challenge Plate, the Queen Mother Challenge Cup and the Visitors’ Challenge Cup) and racing in six finals – Wargrave, Remenham and Town). A fantastic display of skill and grit! Click here to see a short video.
- Our hospitality team, as always, rose to the occasion magnificently. They kept everyone refreshed and in high spirits, serving up an astonishing 2,500 jugs of Pimm’s, 10,000 pints of beer and 820 bottles of Digby!
- The kitchens were bustling, preparing and serving more than 4,000 lunches, teas, and dinners to our members and their guests.
- We were delighted to welcome more than 10,000 regatta-goers to the Club throughout the week, creating an incredible atmosphere of excitement and shared passion.

Beyond the numbers, we shared some truly special moments that will undoubtedly become part of Leander’s rich history:
- The ‘fastest ever’ Ladies Plate eight returned for a row-past, 40 years after their spectacular win – swiftly followed the next day by a win from our 2025 Plate eight.
- We had the honour of naming two boats: one in tribute to our long-standing Member, Ted Jackson, and the second, the ‘Beryl Crockford’, proudly christened by former Club Captain Duncan Crockford, who won the naming rights for our double. These moments truly connect our past, present, and future.
- Our silent auction was a great success, successfully raising £550 thanks to your generous contributions.
- It was a particular pleasure to host a first-of-its-kind reception for 50 of our US Members, further strengthening the bonds within our international Leander family.
