All Members are now invited to use the Leander Club gym for the first time in the club’s history. This is a brand new offer for our Members which is included in your annual membership. It has been made possible now that our athletes travel to Toby Garbett’s gym on the Reading Road for the majority of their land-based training.
General Manager Al Heathcote said: “It’s great to be able to offer this additional benefit to our Members. We’re sure they will enjoy working out in the place where Olympians are created! The gym is stocked with rowing machines, bikes and weights. We just ask that Members keep to the times set out so that we don’t disrupt our athletes’ training sessions.”
We hope you’ll take full advantage of this new fitness offer. Please note, this is a rowing gym and does not have the full range of equipment you might find in a public gym – for example there are no running machines. Along with the traditional ergos, bikes and weights, we have two fantastic Hydrow rowing machines in the gym. Please note, the gym is unmanned and the following must be understood.
- Training should preferably not be done alone
- The use of free weights can only be done with another person present
- Members are only allowed to use the gym once they have completed a short induction and a waiver
