Illuminated Boat Parade

Leander Club is delighted to support The Illuminated Boat Parade, to be held between Fawley Meadows and the Leander on the evening of the 24th September.

Now the organisers are looking to our Members to get involved. Penny Palermo, event organiser said: “If you have a boat or a friend with a boat, register for the event at www.illuminatedparade.com then put your thinking caps on to come up with something imaginative to adorn your boat with lights.  There’s already a Ghostbusters boat and a Skeleton Pirate Ship, but it could be anything from Jubilee Year, to Carnival, to Christmas to Abba.

“The more lights, fancy dress and music on your boat the better.  You can bring any boat, any size, motorised or unmotorised, we’ve even got paddle boarders coming.  If you would like to join in but don’t have a boat, Hobbs are renting them with a skipper for the evening, so all you have to do is turn up with your lights. There is a judging panel, lots of prizes, food and drink available at Leander and a live band.  Get thinking of themes until you have your ‘lightbulb moment!'”

All entry proceeds and donations on the night will benefit the Leander Trust and the Rivertime Trust.

Members and their guests are welcome to watch the proceedings from Leander Club.
