The Tom Hoffman library
Thanks to the generous donation of 1,800 books by Club Member Tom Hoffman, the Leander library contains the most comprehensive collection of rowing books anywhere in the world.
Amassed over a period of many years, the Hoffman collection was made available to the Club in July 2012 and has now been amalgamated with the Club’s own extensive archive, including Minute Books and other records dating back to the Club’s foundation in 1818.
Access to the library for scholarly research and other reference purposes is by appointment with the librarian, Geoff Leggett. He can be contacted via the Club Office.
The Tom Hoffman collection was generously donated to the Leander Trust.
The Trust aims to provide the organisation and facilities to enable and encourage pupils and students at schools and universities in the British Isles to row and/or scull.
For further information, please contact Trustee, Geoff Leggett via the Club Office.
