Coach, cox and commentator
James Loveday, coach of the winning Leander junior quad in the Fawley at last year’s Henley, with Olympic commentator Robert Treharne Jones, ‘The Voice of Rowing’, and current world champion cox Erin Wysocki-Jones, will join forces to offer a unique perspective on Tokyo.
James and Robert both worked at the Olympic venue during last year’s Junior World Championships, while Erin has recently returned from an athlete orientation tour of the venue as part of the team preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
The Sea Forest Waterway in the Japanese capital will offer competitors the first salt water rowing course since Stockholm 1912, but other hazards include the heat and humidity, flying fish and, of course, the legendary Japanese etiquette!
The drinks reception starts at 6.30pm followed by a two-course informal supper, with the presentation from James, Robert and Erin to follow, and tickets are just £25 a head.
