Bicentenary Banquet

Bicentenary Banquet

London Guildhall
Wednesday 10 October 2018

The Guildhall plays host to this climax to our bicentenary year, just as it did when we welcomed back our Rio Olympians in 2016. All those who represented Leander at the Olympic Games have been invited as our guests for this special evening, and we have confirmations from athletes right across the ages, from 1948 to the present day.

Having negotiated some financial support we are able to return to Guildhall with the same caterers at a much-reduced cost of £99 a head, to include reception drinks, a three-course meal and wines, in this most prestigious of venues. Guests are welcome to attend this evening.

It promises to be a most memorable celebratory evening with three-times Olympic champion Pete Reed OBE, who recently retired from competitive rowing, as our principal guest. In addition we have also invited all our Leander Olympic and Paralympic medallists to sit among us.

In the chair is Jeremy ‘Rass’ Randall, to mark his official swansong at the end of his term of office as our President, so we look forward with enthusiasm to his final after-dinner speech!

Guildhall is one of the most prestigious and iconic buildings in London and the ticket prices at £99 a head has only been possible because our principle partners Invesco have heavily and generously subsidised us. This really is an event not to miss.

Our menu includes:
Tempura of sea bass
Canon of salt marsh lamb
Classic lemon & caramel tart

We are pleased to accommodate anyone with particular dietary needs if you let us know when you book.

Coach from Henley – at least one coach will be making the return journey between Leander and the Guildhall. Please contact us to reserve your seats at £15 return per person for the first coach, thereafter prices will depend on numbers and coach availability.
