28 March: The wash created by a passing police launch at Barnes Bridge may have cost Leander the Headship on Saturday. Stroke Alex Gregory caught a boat-stopping crab, and the momentary lapse allowed Molesey to take the title by three seconds.
Tideway Scullers, with GB single sculler Alan Campbell at 5, were first off the mark, but without the 'Super Eight' line-up of Olympians that took last year's pennant they slipped to 12th overall.
Approaching Hammersmith Leander I, who started in the second slot, still had to close the gap on Scullers, while only the lightweights in Leander II separated them from Molesey who started fourth.
The provisional results confirmed Leander I in second place behind Molesey, but Leander II won the lightweight pennant with sixth position overall, with Leander III finishing in 11th place.

24 March: Leander athletes, sponsored by Invesco Perpetual, will be boating four crews in this year's Head of the River Race, the event that marks the end of the long distance winter training period.
Our world champion men's four will be making up the stern four of Leander I, where they are joined by three members of last year's GB men's eight. Among the bow four will be Tom Wilkinson and Nick Clark, who learned to row at Leander, and who have now moved steadily through the ranks to achieve their places in the first eight.
The Leander lightweights, including former world champion Paul Mattick, compete as Leander II, while Leander III is composed of athletes hoping to contest the Ladies Plate at this year's Henley, and our fourth boat is a combination of previous Henley talent and development athletes.
Leander will be boating as usual from the British Rowing headquarters (formerly the ARA) at Hammersmith and all members and other supporters would be very welcome to help send off our crews at about 12.30pm, 45 minutes before race time at 1.15pm.
