Five world-class crews will compete over the 7.9 mile course near Hamburg where the favourites will be this year's German world silver medallists. The British line-up is changed from the crew which took the bronze medal in Munich - Marcus Bateman and James Orme from the coxed four now join the eight which still includes Rick Egington and Tom Stallard. Three other international eights are entered alongside Germany and Britain - the USA who took fourth in Munich will compete as will the Netherlands and Switzerland who have yet to qualify for the Olympics.
