Pre-booking is not accepted and allocation is made on a first-come first-served basis. The office is however always pleased to discuss enquiries for evenings functions during Regatta and events in the Regatta build-up. Arrangements for 2012 will be broadly similar to previous years and along the following lines.

Members' Bookings

Bookings are taken strictly in order of receipt and ‘Waitlists’ run in all areas on the same basis. All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Payment may be made by Personal Cheque or Visa/MasterCard.

Late bookings (received after 17th June) will not be posted but made ready for collection at the Badge Tent. The office will notify you if the places you require are already fully booked and will offer you available alternatives. No refunds can be made after 17th June and the Club cannot accept responsibility for the re-sale of meal tickets or badges.

BADGES

Members will receive their Member's Badge and two Guest Badges for each day, by post, in early March 2012. For every Lunch, Tea or Dinner booked, additional badges over and above this allocation will be complimentary. Widows and Spouse Members will receive a Member's Badge and may purchase further guest badges. To assist security, Members and their Guests are reminded that they must wear their badges so that they can be clearly seen. Members are entirely responsible for their guests at all times. The Club has the right to refuse admission at either gate if it is felt that the clubhouse and grounds risk overcrowding. Badges are strictly not for re-sale.

OVERSEAS MEMBERS

Members paying the overseas subscription who wish to attend Regatta are required to upgrade to the full rate by notifying the club by fax or e-mail to cheryl@leander.co.uk  giving payment details. The badge pack will then be available for collection on arrival. Overseas members’ wishing to make reservations for any meals should fax or e-mail their order, giving payment details. The meal tickets will be held with the badge pack at the badge tent.

Please contact regatta@leander.co.uk  for availability, details and prices of meals after March 2012. Overseas members’ who already pay the full subscription will be able to collect their badges from the office or badge tent. It would be helpful if you notified Cheryl of your attendance so that everything will be in place

CLUBHOUSE LUNCHEON

Luncheon

The air conditioned clubhouse has always been a very special place to have luncheon or tea at the Regatta.

The a la carte style of last year's luncheon was widely acclaimed and will be retained with an extensive menu running for the 5 days. Table size is limited to eight per table.

CLUBHOUSE TEA

Afternoon tea (waitress service) will be served in the Dining Room. Places can be reserved by applying before Regatta so that a table plan can be drawn up to accommodate varying sized parties to a maximum of 8 people per table. There will be a selection of high quality sandwiches, scones, cakes and fresh strawberries with cream. Doors will open from 4pm and close at 6pm so that dinner may be laid.

CLUBHOUSE DINNER

Dinner is increasingly popular with those wishing to avoid the traffic jams and spend a relaxing time with friends enjoying a special three-course dinner which is served from 7.30pm with last orders at 8.30pm.

CLUBHOUSE BAR

The Clubhouse Bar offers a quieter venue to the Riverview Bar. This year we will extend bar food service into the Members Bar at lunchtimes, plated sandwiches and snacks will be available in the bar, as well as coffee, from 8am to 10pm. The Clubhouse Bar will be open from 11am to 11pm.

CLUBHOUSE BREAKFAST

A full English breakfast is also available between 7am and 9am for non-residents who pre-book with the office.

CLUBHOUSE RESTAURANT MENU

The Clubhouse Restaurant Menu will be available from March 2012.

THE MARQUEE AND RIVERSIDE PAVILION

s
The air conditioned marquee has always been a very special place to have lunch or tea at the regatta.

THE MARQUEE LUNCHEON

The marquee restaurant offers a three course meal with a hot and cold choice of main course and a vegetarian meal from noon. For 2012, the menu will change daily and details of the daily menus are as follows: Wednesday 29th June, Thursday 30th June - Friday 1st July and Saturday 2nd July - Sunday 3rd July. Seating is on tables of ten and members with smaller parties will be expected to share. To speed up wine service a pre-order desk will be open daily between 9.00 am and noon so that Members' wines can be served as soon as they take their places. A traditional roast luncheon will be available on Sunday.

MARQUEE TEA

Afternoon tea will be self service in the marquee restaurant. There will be a selection of high-quality sandwiches, scones, cakes and fresh strawberries with cream. Doors will open at 4pm and close at 6pm on each day (5:30pm on Sunday). Admittance is by pre-purchased ticket only and tables may be shared. Regrettably it is not possible to reserve tables.

THE RIVERVIEW BAR

sThe members' Riverview Bar and terrace were extremely popular. The bar is open 11am until 11pm (midnight on Saturday) and will be serving coffee, sandwiches and light snacks from 10am to 10pm daily. In addition we will be providing a hot bar food service in the evening from 6pm until 10pm. Unfor tunately, we cannot take reservations for this service. The Riverview Bar is fast becoming 'the place to be' after racing each day.

BAR MENU

A variety of home-cooked bistro style fork meals will be on offer each evening.

MEMBERS ARE REMINDED

DRESS CODE

Members are asked to ensure their guests are informed that Regatta dress is very traditional. Gentlemen are required to wear lounge suits, jackets or blazers with flannels, and a tie or cravat.

Only in the most extreme temperatures will an announcement be made to relax the jacket rule. In such circumstances ties must remain fastened and sleeves un-rolled. Ladies are asked to wear dresses or suits. The Stewards' Enclosure will not allow ladies entry if the skirt length does not cover the knee. Leander Club takes a more relaxed approach, however ladies wearing very short, or very revealing dresses will be declined entry.
Entry will also be declined to ladies wearing divided skirts, culottes, or trousers. Hats are optional, but encouraged.

MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones must be switched to silent whilst in the Clubhouse and grounds. Members are asked to remind their guests that it is unacceptable to engage in (loud) mobile phone conversations that may disturb others especially when they are dining in the Clubhouse or marquee.

CHILDREN

Children under the age of TEN cannot be admitted into the Clubhouse or grounds for safety reasons.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

Wheelchair access is available to all areas except the raised Riverside Terrace where we regret that this is not possible.

PARKING IN WARGRAVE MEADOWS

Click here for mapA special area roped off by the pond in Wargrave Meadow is set aside for members’ of Leander Club wishing to picnic and places need to be reserved. This facility is made available to members’ at cost to the club. Wargrave Road avoids much of the traffic congestion and is approximately 5-8 minutes walk to the club. If you just want to park and not picnic, you can turn up on the day and pay on arrival.

PINK HIPPO SHOP

During Regatta an extended shop will be situated by the main entrance to the club. Opening hours are from 10am to 7pm and until 8pm on the Friday and Saturday. The continued success of the shop provides a very healthy contribution to the rowing programme. For further information and reservations please telephone 01491 575782 or email events@leander.co.uk Leander Club.
