Become a Leander Hero and make a difference! |

The Leander 'Heroes Club' |
| |
The Leander 2012 Appeal has now been running for four years and has
raised significant amounts of money to support our rowing programme
- Founded in 1818 Leander Club is the world's most famous and successful rowing club. Our athletes have won more medals at World and Olympic level than any other club in the world.
- Leander champions include Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Matthew Pinsent, Steve Williams, Peter Reed, Mark Hunter, Debbie Flood and Anna Watkins.
- Since 1908 Leander athletes have won a total of 99 Olympic medals - more than any other single sports club anywhere in the world.
- In Beijing in 2008 15 Leander athletes competed as members of Team GB. All reached the finals , where 3 won gold, medals, 7 silver and 3 bronze.
- At the World Championships in 2011 Leander athletes won 17 medals.
In 2012 Leander athletes are set to claim their 100th Olympic medal and beyond!
- But we need to match the commitment of our rowers with the best possible coaching, equipment and facilities.
- Our 2012 Appeal is enabling us to invest further in Leander Club's training facilities and to support our aspiring and world-class athletes in attaining their full potential.
- We also need to strengthen further our coaching resources and support teams, including physiotherapy, massage and nutrition.
